The correct day for Lynn’s Celebration of Life is Saturday, Nov. 24.
Lyndell Jean Huber, 86, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, following a sudden illness. At her request, there will be no services. The family will hold a Celebration of Life open house at 2818 Chippewa Trail NE, Cedar Rapids, on Saturday, Nov. 24, from 2 to 6 p.m. Friends and family are welcome. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cedar Rapids.
She is survived by her five children, Karen Howie of Cedar Rapids, Stephen (Mary) Huber of Fairfax, John Huber of Cedar Rapids, Matthew (Jill) Huber of Louisiana and Phillip Huber of Cedar Rapids; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerome Huber; her daughter, Linda Kay Toman; and granddaughter, Stephanie Toman. She was the last survivor of seven siblings.
Lynn had many fond memories of her tavern, Alias Smith and Jones Saloon, which she ran for several years in Cedar Rapids in the ‘70s and ‘80s. She also enjoyed cooking for and spending time with her family, playing cards, dancing and fishing. Lynn never met a stranger and numerous family and friends will hold her memory close in their hearts.
