Hervey, Amy C.
Amy C. Hervey, 86, of South English, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Please join the family in a celebration of Amy's life on Wednesday at the North Keokuk Fire Station in South English. The family will receive visitors from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. with a short memorial service to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Amy's name be made to Parkview Manor in Wellman.
Amy was born June 26, 1923, near North English, the daughter of Ray N. and Maude F. Foster Claypool. She graduated from North English High School. On June 26, 1941, she was united in marriage to Elroy William Hervey, in Kirksville, Mo. They lived in the North English community until moving to South English in 1962. She was a member of the North English Methodist Church and was active in the Twentieth Century Federated Women's Club.
She is survived by her husband, Elroy of South English; her children, Ray Elroy (Connie) Hervey of Battle Creek, Mich., Lyle Hervey of Des Moines, Virginia (Dick) Swanson of San Antonio, Texas, Edward (Cheryl) Hervey of South English, and Daryl (Maxine) Hervey of Wellman; eight grandchildren, Christine (Fred) Cortameglia, Tracy Hervey (Kim), Kim Swanson (fiancee, Greg Meyers), Mike (Denise) Hervey, Cindy Menke (fiancee, Chad McDonald), Brandy (Toby) Lehman, Heather (Jason) Trimpe and Brian Hervey; and 11 great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Allison Hervey, Conner Swanson, Haylee and Morgan Lehman, Kristina and Christopher Nor, Sam Menke, and Ethan, Owen and Cassie Trimpe.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two grandchildren, Nancy and Jeff Swanson.
