Helen Berger Hertel, 96, of Amana, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013. Funeral Services: 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, Middle Amana Community Church, Middle Amana. Burial: South Amana Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Middle Amana Community Church.

Memorials may be contributed to the Amana Church Society.

Helen is survived by a son, Larry of South Amana; a daughter, Lynda H. Flaherty (Brian) of South Lake, Texas; two grandchildren, Kellie and B. Kyle Flaherty; and a sister Emma Johnson of Norwalk, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Mary Setzer Berger; her husband, Henry E. Hertel; three brothers, Fred, Adolph T. and Dan Berger; and three sisters, Christine Engelhaupt, Dorothy Marz and Emily in infancy.
