Loretta Belle Herber

Loretta Belle Herber, 82, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013. Graveside Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at Wilcox Cemetery, Viola. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include her children, Pamela Sweet, Nancy Sweet, Mark Sweet, James Ulery, Lisa (Joe) Dalziel and Tonya (Jaclyn Anderson) Kehoe-Anderson; her grandchildren, Christine, Warren and Danielle Sweet, Cruse, Riley and Sydney Aarhus, Andrew Kehoe, Katie, Jesse, Cale and Cassandra Ulery; and great-grandson, Jordan Sweet-Landfair. She is also survived by her sister, Lavonne (Harold) Marling and their family; and her brother, Jack Scanlon.

Loretta was preceded in death by her former husband, William Herber; her beloved son, David; her sisters, Lois Jean and Reva; and her brother, Thomas.

Loretta was born April 20, 1930, in Anamosa, Iowa, to Cecil and John Grimm.

She was wonderfully creative and made many beautiful quilts and craft works. She loved the lush green landscape of Iowa and considered herself to be a true Iowa child.
