Hanson, Marie F.
Marie F. Hanson, 80, of Strawberry Point, Iowa, died at the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home on Sunday, July 29, 2012.
She was born in Strawberry Point on Sept. 2, 1931, the daughter of Ralph and Hazel (Moyle) Hanson. Marie was raised and educated in the Strawberry Point area, attending rural schools north of town.
Marie lived with her parents north of Strawberry Point and assisted with the farming and caring for her twin brother. After the death of her parents and brother, she did “handiwork” for others.
Marie entered the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home in 2006.
In her younger years, Marie enjoyed riding horses and hunting mushrooms.
Survivors include one sister, Ruth Coonfare of Arlington; and many nieces and nephews.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Margaret Klemp; and her twin brother, James.
Leonard-Muller Funeral Home and Crematory, Strawberry Point, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial service: 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Volga, Iowa. Officiating: Rev. Lin Reichstadter. Inurnment at a later date in Cass Township Cemetery, Strawberry Point, Iowa.
