Mary Ann Griswold

Mary Ann Griswold, 62, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Nov. 19, 2012, in her home following an extended illness. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, with visitation an hour before.

Mary was born Oct. 18, 1950, in Anamosa, Iowa, to Raymond and Lillian (Hamdorf) Griswold. She graduated from Midland Community High School in Wyoming. Mary attended Central College in Pella and completed her teaching degree at Iowa State University. She later completed a master’s degree in guidance counseling and was currently working at Linn-Mar High School as a guidance counselor.

Mary is survived by her brother, Jan (Beverly) Griswold; sister, Rita Spratt; aunt, Elegeva Stolte; eight nieces and nephews; and nine great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends are encouraged to give memorial donations to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
