Freshwater, Betty Louise
Betty Louise Freshwater, 95, of Lowell, Ark., died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Ark.
She was born Nov. 28, 1917, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to William Earl and Della Knudson Cornish. Betty grew up and lived in Cedar Rapids where she met her husband, Roy. She worked for the Quaker Oats Company in Cedar Rapids for 13 years. She and her family also lived in Council Bluffs, before moving to Northwest Arkansas. The Freshwater family built their home of 55 years in the Hickory Creek area of Beaver Lake. The lake had not yet filled at that time. Betty was a member of Hickory Creek Ladies Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1981.
She is survived by her son, Joe Freshwater and wife Liquetta; and a grandson, Coy Freshwater, all of Lowell; two nieces, Diane Cornish Hayes of Marion and Marilyn McConkey Boyles of Cedar Rapids; and one nephew, Richard Cornish of Marion.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fayetteville National Cemetery. Arrangements are with Heritage Funeral Home, Springdale, Ark.
