Esther Evans, 87, of Kahoka, Mo., died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, in Keokuk, Iowa.

Esther was born Nov. 9, 1925, at Columbus Junction, Iowa, a daughter of Claude and Alta Lee Lukins.

On Nov. 18, 1943, she was united in marriage to Thomas Evans.

Survivors include two daughters, Judee (Mrs. Lyle) Noeller of both Farmington, Iowa, and Kahoka, Mo., and Trudy Stahr of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas, on Aug. 20, 1988; a daughter, Peggy Speck; a son, Jerry Evans; two sons-in-law, JoyDale Speck and Butch Stahr; and two grandchildren, Chad Wallroff and Rhonda Evans.

Esther spent most of her life in Iowa, retiring to Arkansas. She moved to Missouri seven years ago when her health began to fail.

Cremation rites have been accorded and memorial services will be held Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka, Mo., with visitation one hour prior to services.
