Erceg, Josephine M.
Josephine M. Erceg, 81, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, in Marietta, Ga. Funeral servicers will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories by the Rev. Bill Harnish. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with burial following at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Josephine was born Sept. 17, 1931, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Michael Kapsalikus and Katherine Pepin. Josephine was first married to John Wheeler. They later divorced. She then married John Erceg. He died in 2003. She worked for Rockwell Collins for 30 years before her retirement.
Josephine had a love for her children and her grandchildren. She loved spending time in Texas and Georgia in the winter months. She loved the outdoors and long walks. She will be forever remembered for her love of her children.
Josephine is survived by her sons, Richard (Rose) Wheeler of Amana, Johnny Wheeler (David) of Georgia, Tony (Julie) Erceg of Cedar Rapids and Mark (Helen) Erceg of Michigan; her daughters, Debbie (Dan) Michel of Georgia and Angel Harper (Scott) of North Liberty; her stepchildren, John (Margaret) Erceg and Tom (Char) Erceg, all from Cedar Rapids, Greg (Jan) Erceg of Solon and Yvonne (Larry) Hopp of Cedar Rapids; a daughter-in-law, Virginia Wheeler of Georgia; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Josephine was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; her son, Ronald; and a brother, George.
