Chester Vernon Ehrenberger

Chester Vernon Ehrenberger, 86, a resident of Heritage Nursing and Rehab died there on Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, after a short illness. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Inurnment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Vicki; a daughter, Heidi (Scott) Haney of Cedar Rapids; and a son, Steven (Mary) of Prior Lake, Minn.

He is also survived by two grandchildren, Cameron and Tabitha Haney; and two sisters-in-law, Bertha and Maria.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank W. and George.

Chester was born on July 4, 1926. in Cedar Rapids. the son of Frank and Bessie Werba Ehrenberger. He married Vicki J. Tewalt on April 23, 1965. in Cedar Rapids. Chester worked at Rockwell Collins as a lab technician and retired from there in 1987, after more than 43 years of service.

Chester Vernon Ehrenberger

Chester was a 50 year member of Cedar Christian Church, most recently New Disciples of Cedar Rapids and a 60 year member of the Cedar Rapids Municipal Band where he played the euphonium. He proudly served in the 158th Army Band during the Korean War. He enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, music and especially the time spent with his beloved family and many friends.

Memorial donations may be given to the New Disciples of Cedar Rapids or the Cedar Rapids Municipal Band.
