Cluresa A. Haman was born March 20, 1926, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, the daughter of Clarence and Leota (Slade) Haman. She attended schools in Tiffin, graduating from high school there in 1944. She was united in marriage to Lloyd D. “Blondie” Eggers on Aug. 15, 1946, in Iowa City. The couple moved to Tiffin in 1947 and she has never left the area since. Over the years when she wasn’t caring for her family she worked at a number of places, including Beverly Manor Care Center, Hardees in Coralville, and retired two years ago from Hy-Vee in Coralville, where she took great pride as the Salad Bar manager!
Her family and friends were her world, she loved to visit, and was known to say she never met a stranger. She was very proud of the fact that she was one of the “old” residents of Tiffin.
Her family includes her children, Carole Eggers of Clear Lake, Minn., Skeet Morgan (Tom) of Tiffin, Bob Eggers (Connie Kieffer) of Oxford, Bill Eggers (Sharon) of Tiffin, Betty Detert (Butch) of Tiffin, Patty Neuzil (Jimmy II) of Oxford, Jim Eggers of Tiffin, Jack Eggers (Sheri Chapman) of Tiffin and Kathy Reynolds (Dan) of Kellerton; 24 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Blondie; daughter, Mary Lou Eggers, a great-granddaughter; and sister, Thora Lehman.
