Matt Edwards

Matt Edwards, 28, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Monticello, with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery. The Rev. Darrell Larson will officiate at the services. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello.

Surviving are his parents, Vicki and Dana Edwards, Monticello; his sister, Jessie (Mark) Seaton and nephew, Harper of Marion; his maternal grandfather, Marvin Jansen and his companion, Dorothy Stutt, Monticello; his aunts and uncles, Greg and Melinda Jansen, Milwaukee, Wis., William (Sandy) Edwards, Jean Luensman, Michael (Linda Varner) Edwards, John (JoAnn) Edwards, all of Monticello; and his dog, Addie.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Esther and Bernie Edwards and Dorothy Jansen.

Matt Andrew Edwards was born Aug. 7, 1984, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was the son of Dana and Vicki Jansen Edwards. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Matt graduated from the Monticello Community Schools with the class of 2002. He worked for John Schlarmann on his farm later working for Crop Production Services. He had also been employed at Cascade Die Mold in the Tool and Die Shop and at Star Buildings. He was currently employed at Energy Manufacturing.

Matt enjoyed being outside on the farm and hunting or doing anything mechanical.
