Daniel R. Costello

Daniel R. Costello, 66, of Newhall, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home. Family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Costello of Cedar Rapids; children, Dan (Terri lee) Costello of Redmond, Wash., Mimi (Dr. Leo) Chough of Minnetonka, Minn. and Ryan Costello of Newhall; grandchildren, Calvin Costello and Delaney Chough; and siblings, Mike (Marilyn) Costello of Sioux Falls, S.D. and Richard Costello of Soda Springs, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his son, Andrew Costello; and his parents, Richard and Lorraine Costello.

Dan was born Dec. 21, 1946, in Sioux City, Iowa, son of Richard and Lorraine Costello. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. On Feb. 4, 1967, he married Linda D. Neswick in Sioux City. He was a member and past president of the Model “A” Car Club, a board member of ASAC and Consumer Credit Board. He was the president of Bankers Bonded Services, a business he founded in 1992.

A memorial fund has been established.
