Jane M. Cook

Jane M. Cook, a resident of Linn Manor Care Center went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012. She was 94 years old. Private family services will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Jane was born on March 16, 1918, in Albia, Iowa, to Donald Hurlbut and Dura (Webb) Hurlbut. On June 27, 1937, Jane married Lawrence B. Cook in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Jane and Lawrence moved to Cedar Rapids where she worked for Collins Radio and later retired from Armstrong’s Department Store. Jane enjoyed sewing, crafting, genealogy and was an amazing baker and cook.

Jane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lawrence (Cookie); and son, Stephen.

Jane is survived by a son, David (Georgann), Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Pam Looney, Shreveport, La.; and daughter-in-law, Kathy Cook, Fort Collins, Colo.

Also surviving are grandchildren, George Cook (Maria), Loraine Bennett (Leif), both of Cedar Rapids, Cindy Cook, Fort Collins, Colo., Lanna LeGier-Paul, New Orleans, La., and Karl LeGier (Diane), Alexandria, La.; and many great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank everyone at Linn Manor who have always been so kind and caring to our mother the last five years.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Luke’s Hospice.
