Bressler, Ronald Lee

Ronald Lee Bressler

Ronald Lee Bressler was born Nov. 24, 1947, in Inyokern, Calif., the son of Whitner and Winnagene (Inman) Bressler. He attended Franklin School and Washington High School in Cedar Rapids. On Sept. 4, 2001, he married Lois Stoddard in Cedar Rapids. He worked for Wilson’s in Cedar Rapids for over 20 years. Ron enjoyed spending time with children, writing music and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. At age 15, he played drums for Herb Alpert and was later inducted into the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Ron died on Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at Mercy Iowa City at the age of 65 years.

He is survived by his wife, Lois of Williamsburg; a son, Todd (Michelle) Bressler of Long Beach, Calif.; a granddaughter, Chloe Bressler; his mother, Winnagene Caslavka of Marion; and two stepchildren, Tracie (Dave) Kubas of Williamsburg and Chad Von Lienen of Conroy; and eight stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, at the Powell Funeral Home, Williamsburg. Pastor Gary VanHeuklon will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established for the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
