Ruth Joan Barnes-McKinley, 82, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Southridge Nursing Center in Sioux Falls, S.D. Services: 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel, Cedar Rapids, where the family will greet friends one hour before the service. Private Burial: Cedar Memorial, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include her daughter, Shelley Barnes of Sioux Falls, S.D.; half sisters, Trudy and Gretchen; half brother, Art; and many good friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George; her first husband, William; and her parents.

Ruth was born July 8, 1930, the daughter of Violet and Arthur Conrad Sr. in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She worked as a bank teller and school secretary for many years, until she retired.

Ruth loved to roller skate, water ski, swim, visit and bowl. She was ranked as the top woman’s bowler in Cedar Rapids at one time.

Her later years were spent caring for her husband, George.

The family would like to thank all of her dear friends who were always in her thoughts and prayers.
