Martha Lorraine Ahrens

Martha Lorraine Ahrens, 86, of Manchester, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester.

Survivors include her children, Dennis (Sandra) Ahrens of Dundee, Ellen (Lary) Becher of Peoria, Ariz., and Deanna (James) McDermott of Manchester; six grandchildren, Shea and Cort Ahrens, Cade and Evan Becher, James McDermott III and Brianne Jimenez; six great-grandchildren plus two on the way; three sisters, Sylvia Bradley of Manchester, Eileen Wallsworth of Laguna Beach, Calif., and Sharon Allen of Ringgold, Ga.; two brothers, Bill (Sharon) Linderwell of Guttenberg and Kenny (Virginia) Linderwell of Manchester; a brother-in-law, Duane Weyant of Edgewood; and two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Linderwell of Strawberry Point and Luella Linderwell of Dothan, Ala.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Sylvia Linderwell; her husband, Lavern Ahrens; two daughters, Gloria Kraus and Linda Kuch; her granddaughter, Megan McDermott; five brothers, Delmer, Herschell, Raymond “Shorty,” Ernie Jr. and Arnold; and three sisters, Erna May (at birth), Delores Hillmer and Irene Weyant.

Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Dundee, by the Rev. Timothy Miller. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home & Crematory in Manchester, and one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Interment: 10 a.m. Monday at Oakland Cemetery, Manchester.
