My colleague, Rod Boshart, passed this along from Des Moines:

Some of the new features include:
- “MY MEDSIMPLE” is a medication tool to simplify medications by providing alerts and reminders of important drug interactions as well as making it easy to stick to a medication plan.
- “MY NUMBERS” is a tool to track and record all vital numbers including A1c levels, blood pressure, cholesterol and weight. Plus it helps set important goals and track progress.
- “MY SUGAR” is a feature to manage blood sugar goals and maintain blood glucose.
- “MY VISITS” is an innovative option that puts the patient in control of their doctor visits by gathering lab and medication information into one place to bring along to upcoming appointments and provides important questions to ask your doctor.
Des Moines Diabetes and technology expert, Dr. Anuj (pronounced “Uh-nooj”) Bhargava, developed My Diabetes Home as a comprehensive location for diabetics to read and review relevant and non-biased information on how to manage the disease.
According to Dr. Bhargava, “As an endocrinologist, I come in contact with patients on a daily basis who struggle to control their disease. Diabetes is a very complex disease that requires managing multiple meds, diet, exercise, glucose and labs. The highly customized, MyDiabetesHome.com provides patients with very unique tools that can make their diabetes easier to track and simpler to manage. I’m extremely excited about the new platform and potential benefits for people struggling with diabetes.”
Along with the customized web content, users can also get their information on the go using the MedSimple smartphone app available on both Android and iPhone.
MedSimple provides patients who take multiple meds free access to coupons, a generic savings program list, and Patient Assistance Programs, all to help lower costs. The app also gives patients access to their complete medication list, provider list, and pharmacy list, in the palm of their hand, while also providing great dosing and refill alerts, a pharmacy locator, and a drug search engine.
