They seem to be smart enough to have won the last 4 national cahampionships??? Ridiculous statement…If smart had anything to do with it Northwestern and Standford would have won 48 of the last 50.

Excellent analogy…because as everyone knows, the coolest parents are always the ones who are best at parenting.

David, thank you for disqualifying your opinion immediately by mentioning the “taxpayers’ money.” Since the athletic department is self-sustaining, due primarily to the football program, I think mentioning the football coach’s pay is a moot issue. If you don’t like the product, or have a problem with what he is making, then turn off your [...]

Yeah, I definitely think coach lacks in motivation capability. I mean he never gets fired up during games. I’m sure it has nothing to do with the players.

No it wouldn’t…he didn’t take it off himself, he got it ripped off. However, with the new rules, he would have to come the field on the next play.

You mean Coach is frustrated? You show me one coach in the country who wouldn’t get defensive post-game when his team is so obviously struggling, and keeps losing close games because of lack of execution. Iowa is 10 points from being 8-2, and 4 points from being 2-8. That’s a little nerve wracking no matter [...]

Don’t think that just because the name is Northern Illinois that they weren’t any good. Sagarin has them ranked higher than Iowa State, and there are more NFL starters right now from NIU than ISU. Plus, we were not at home.
I fully expect the passing game to drastically improve.

Banned. NO.
I don’t agree with censorship…but in personal and parental responsibility I do.

@Jay So you do believe that crew, field hockey, hockey, water polo, swimming, fencing, bowling, gymnastics, tennis, and skiing should carry the same weight as football and basketball or even baseball and track. Interesting. I, therefore, lend no credibility to your statement of “worst performing.”
So Bowlsby is the greatest athletic director in NCAA history?

I’m also curious Jay, what are you complaining about? The money? The performance? Are you basing the performance off of the director’s cup standings…where football and women’s crew are given the same weight? If so, kudos to you.

Two things:
1. We STOMPED Florida and South Carolina in the bowl games when they were “second tier”, and we beat a higher ranked LSU team the year after they won the BCS title.
2. Ohio St has an ESPN all access show…last I checked they were still in the Big Ten.Michael Roberts commented on the blog post Law locks in on his own indentity 8 months, 4 weeks ago · View
Maybe I’m not reading the article correctly, but it seems like the word NOT is missing from the headline. That’s a pretty important word.

sanji…to which tab are you referring???
The tab for the fans to get in? – which is free. Or the tab on the “extra” operating costs to have fans in the stadium? – which is covered by the athletic administration which is self-sustaining because of the football program.

“It is so obvious that it drives me up the wall.” Says the person without a college head-coaching job. It’s extremely easy to second guess any coaching decision post-loss (even Belichek can be second guessed). However, this coaching staff’s MO has always been play it conservative and straight up. When it works, it’s beautiful. They [...]

He’s a hawk. Write it in the book. As far as style of play, guards don’t typically have as hard a time transitioning their games from a steady, slow-paced style to a faster-paced style as big men do. He’s not a slasher and will be asked to spot up, which in a faster-paced game is [...]
