Michigan’s coach “that was a player of the YEAR performance”. Who does the BIG have as player of the WEEK…Aaron Craft. Come on! Craft hustles and is a team player, but he is somewhat of a media invention at this point too. It isn’t Craft’s fault at all, and I would love to have him [...]
Dave, I don’t mean this disrespectfully. However, never having been an athlete, as you stated, I can see how you may think Fran’s actions would be a distraction. I think the contrary is true. When a coach shows that kind of fire (within reason, which I think it was) players feed off that and usually [...]
Born and raised in Iowa, but I have lived in Columbus for the past 20 plus years. I was disappointed we (IOWA) didn’t pullout the win in the “Shoe” here this year, but I am ecstatic the Hawks took it to OSU on the hardwood. It’s been a while and putting up with the Buckeye [...]
I agree with the need to have an open competition at the QB spot. I like Ruddock, but what the back up did and how he handled himself earned him a legitimate shot. As for Iowa not making a turn around? Are you kidding me? If you didn’t see a huge difference in this year’s [...]

Very tough to watch a Hawkeye Wrestling team get dominated like that. Gives me a sick feeling, I have no idea what the answers are, but not what I am used to seeing from our team. Obviously, a very tough opponent, but that used to be us doing the dominating. We need to get that [...]

First of all, you seem miserable. Secondly, they deserve a bowl game, what would you do…turn it down? Thirdly, 2 more wins is more than doable, Lastly, a bowl game equals more practice time, therefore a better product next year. With fans like you, who needs opponents?
Proud to call myself a fellow Denison H.S. Alum, and even more proud of Brandon representing Denison, the Hawkeyes and the state of Iowa so well. He is exactly what I would expect…. from his love of the outdoors to his character and work ethic. That is the way parents raise their kids in Denison [...]
Let me translate….”GET AS LOUD AS FREAKING POSSIBLE FROM BEGINNING TO END REGARDLESS OF SCORE OR TIME LEFT!” I guarantee you that is what he and all the coaches and every loyal Hawkeye fan wants and what the opponents dread! GO HAWKS!
SC, I agree right down the line with everything you said. I too believe the program is improving and headed in a positive direction, but this is truly not acceptable, for all the reasons you stated.

I think you are 100% on the money with your comments. I think the potential is starting to show and the passing game is only going to get better.
Great story! I have enjoyed this and other articles of late, that reflect positively on the State of Iowa, U of I, Iowa football, and most importantly on the young men as people as well as athletes. Go Hawks!
Great story and a refreshing view of a D-1 college athlete. Obviously, the Alvis parents did a phenomenal job raising all of their children. A great role model for all of us with young children, especially in this increasingly difficult child rearing environment.
You have me in the number of years you have been a fan, but I guess we will just have to agree to disagree on the job the QB did. In reading some other sources, our QB got pretty positive reviews overall by ESPN and others. He of course didn’t have the career game that [...]
