Have to love it. He and the Peterson brothers still have a tight, tight bond. I bet Coach Tim Walden got a kick out of it in a sick way. Look at the bond between Larry Bird and Magic. You need someone to compete against for this thing to work. Amazing stories of Bo and [...]

Compete: strive to gain or win something by defeating or establishing superiority over others who are trying to do the same Rick, I have no idea who you are or how successful you’ve been in life. i certainly hope you have been. I’ve know Bret since he was a walk on in college. I’d say [...]

And Paul, I hear you. Even though our team lost a few years back on the fake punt, you had to love that game. Speaking of fire, Marc posted an amazing youtube video from the post game after the OSU game that year of Clayborn balling his eyes out and having to leave the room [...]

Scott and Steve, i respect your opinions, but sports are a bit more testy than you two gentleman believe. That was the point of this article. Guys like Bielema have some fire to him. Fry knew this and that’s why Bret was a team captain. Full disclosure I know him and love that fire. I [...]

That made my head hurt. I had to stop reading it not even 1/2 way through.

Man I hope the “openness” is resonating. Ferentz is right that we don’t care about his choice of cereal in the am, but we do crave some knowledge and opinion about our passion. Seems like he’s starting to get it or is at least trusting those that do. Good stuff.

I never thought I’d live to see the day. Glad to see the head is out of the sand. Some new blood changing little things already.

“An unofficial record of what’s supposed to happen,” that’s fantastic. Indeed it is. Iowa’s always brought in a lot of smart good kids. The last few years as the tailbacks have disappeared (be injury or suspension), new guys have stepped up. Iowa has been fortunate to literally live “there next man in” at that position: [...]

As a huge Hawkeye fan (Mr. Morehouse can attest), I hate to admit that our forefather (John Adams) makes valid points. Things are a bit awry in IC. I would love to see more openness and joy. It is a Hawkeye state so why not celebrate it. This dismissal of the new world we live [...]

That’s right up there with your Ferentz mangled fingers/Derrell Johnson-Koulianos manicure description. You should write about football for a living. Hopefully continue about my favorite team if they’re lucky. Thanks.

Oh I know. That was a typo at the end of a 36 hour stint in IC. I got the reference and got a chuckle. I assume McNutt got it as well.

Amen. Been patiently waiting. I know that there is a lot more to it, but I’d also hold the coaching accountable for the lack of traditional Hawkeye TE play. Excited to watch CJF flourish the next few years. This team is starting to land some real talent. I’d love to see this coaching staff that [...]

Sindo! Stud and teammate when I was a freshman and sophomore. Too bad both Brands and Ferentz probably wouldn’t allow a two sport athlete anymore. Ferentz’s sons are pretty close to being a Sindlinger. I remember how tough it was for Sindo to make the transition from football shape to wrestling shape.
