Food for thought… as we head towards super conferences and playoffs in football where the big programs are going to break from the NCAA ( It’s going to happen; just give it time), when do the major conferences push for more teams in the bball tourney? They already went to 68. Sanji is on to [...]

LOL. so basically the ticket office closed up shop to have dinner for a few minutes. Why aren’t people getting their tickets online? I didn’t think people waited in line for tickets anymore. Remember you had to wait in line to get tickets to a concert; at least to get front row seats. I remember [...]

I suppose there is some precedent (Marble like you mentioned). I also recall Kenyon Murray being Mr. Basketball in Michigan and not going to Michigan because that team was loaded at the time.

Sounds like a good kid. What’s the background on why he chose ISU? Playing time? I would wonder if homesickness will be an issue.

I like putting some speed at the DE spot. I seem to recall another LB turned DE that had some success due to his quickness (i.e. Matt Roth). I realize, as you pointed out as well Marc, that he still needs to learn contain but hopefully he can bulk up and learn the position. Roth [...]

National Championship says Spearman? Why not. I have told my friends and my wife many a time that if that happened in my lifetime for the Hawks that would be the end. Here’s to the end! Despite the last few seasons, I still bleed the black and gold. It’s the time of year for rah [...]

(Got cutoff writing this on my phone lol) … I believe the Offense will improve their line play which is really the key. If Boffeli can fill in at center we’ll be better. I would hope the offense will be better (could not get worse right?). The truth though is that even if the team [...]

I think everyone realizes we have a lack of talent here this year. I am curious to see some of the young defensive lineman (Johnson and Ekakitie). I also think Cooper has shown flashes in limited time. I really think most of the issues on defense this year were from lack of pressure up front. [...]

I do see some talent in the chute but they’re n seasoned enough to help yet. I have noticed the last couple of games more play action and roll out which brings me back to the KOK days which seems to help Vandenberg and the receivers. Not enough to make a difference but the thing [...]

I will agree with Ferentz that this is not the worst Iowa team I have seen but something stinks like “dog crap” when the only excuse is execution. Just painful to watch.

The thing that chaps my hide the most is not running routes past the first down marker on 4th. Talk about not playing the percentages. The frustration we as fans I’m sure is felt by Ferentz as well if not more. The difference? The fans have no direct control over anything here. Another reason i [...]

Sadly, the Iowa team in 2010 also was in the driver’s seat with a chance to control their own destiny late in the conference season and wilted in the final three games. I know I sound negative but this team has not shown me that they can pass the ball effectively. As for that passing [...]

Your vitriol is unwarranted sir. Since Marc is too professional (despite your accusation) to acknowledge your less than civil discourse, I would advise you to make sure your comments do not denigrate in to personal attacks. That said, I do not disagree that UNI is a formidable foe and will give Iowa a good game. [...]

I just have one thing to say: Act like you have been there before Paul Rhoads.
Why do Hawk fans look down on ISU fans despite ISU having won the game 8 of the last 14 years? Because everytime ISU wins you would think it was the greatest victory of the year for them.Captain America (aka Steve Rogers) commented on the blog post The Hlist: Mike Gundy and Bo Pelini have had better weekends 8 months, 1 week ago · View

We’ll never know the answer since Ferentz isn’t going to say why they messed up but I would hope that the entire offensive coaching staff (including Kirk) would look at what they are doing and reevaluate. Something stinks about the preparation and it isn’t just one thing. I could blather on and on about late [...]
