Grand opening today for new Hormel plant in Dubuque

The grand opening of the Hormel Foods Corp. plant in Dubuque is set for Tuesday.
The eastern Iowa facility is the first new plant the Austin, Minn.-based Hormel Foods has built in more than 25 years. The 348,000-square-foot plant is expected to have 180 jobs. Operations started in January at the plant, which is called Progressive Processing.
Several Iowa dignitaries and state officials are expected to attend and speak at Tuesday's grand opening event.
