Police look for robbery suspect following chase

Police are looking for Tyler Glen Deemer, 23, of Cedar Rapids following a police chase on Tuesday afternoon. Deemer is a suspect in a armed robbery of a Marion home on Sunday evening.

Marion detectives received information that Deemer could be staying at an apartment complex near Westdale Mall. While checking the area for Deemer, Marion detectives and members of the 6th Judicial District Dept. of Correctional Services High Risk Unit (HRU) observed the man run on foot.

Deemer later fled in his vehicle and was pursued by officers from the Cedar Rapids Police Department with assistance from the Iowa State Patrol and Linn County Sheriff's Dept. Deemer was able to elude officers and is suspected of stealing a van in Linn County and later suspected of stealing a vehicle in Iowa County.

Deemer currently has outstanding arrest warrants in Linn and Lucas counties. Deemer also has pending charges regarding the robbery in Marion, the vehicle pursuit, and stolen vehicles. Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of Deemer is asked to contact law enforcement.
