Through Wednesday, Cedar Rapids has received just one significant snowfall this winter — the blizzard of Dec. 20 that brought an estimated 6.5 inches of snow to the city. Most other areas of Eastern Iowa are similarly snow-deprived, and in many areas, little snow remains after last week’s warmup.
Are you enjoying the lack of snow this winter? Or would you rather have more snow than we’ve seen so far?
I don’t think in terms of “enjoy” or “not enjoy”. The land is dry, including at the subsoil level. This sets us up for an even bigger drought this summer. We need moisture for the ground. A snow cover can help.
