University of Iowa police officers are all using body-worn video cameras that cost about $900 each to help record incidents  for use in investigations.

The cameras, about the size of a pager, can be clipped to uniform lapels and turned on and off with just a slide of the camera lens cover.

“The video gives an unbiased view from an officer’s perspective,” UI police officer Alton Poole said.

Is this money well spent, or are the cameras too much intrusion by a public agency?

  1. Good Idea, Sure going to stop a lot of smart mouthing and/or badgering by an officer or the public….level’s off the playing feild and for $900, sounds like a bargain
