Nickerson joins ISU wrestling staff

Nickerson is former NCAA champion for Cornell University

Iowa State University announced Friday that former Cornell University NCAA champion Troy Nickerson will join the wrestling staff next season as an assistant to head coach Kevin Jackson. McDonough, Telford earn academic honor

Both add academic accolades to wrestling accomplishments

University of Iowa’s Matt McDonough and Bobby Telford were named to the National Wrestling Coaches Association NCAA Division I All-Academic team Monday. McDonough, a three-time NCAA finalist, won his second 125-pound title in March. Telford, a freshman heavyweight, was a runner-up at the Big Ten Tournament and claimed All-American honors as well.
