A Robins man faces charges filed by the Iowa Plumbing and Mechanical Systems Board alleging that he submitted falsified continuing education credits to obtain a renewal of his plumbing license.
Jeffrey Dunahugh, 235 Gypsy Lane, was issued a master refrigeration license by the state agency on Dec. 15, 2009. A complaint filed by the same agency claims that Dunahugh filed forged documents on Dec. 13, 2011, when he applied for a license renewal.
Dunahugh is accused of filing certificates of completion for continuing education classes that he did not attend. The board also claims the certificates were altered to show his name.
On Feb. 21, the board found probable cause to charge Dunahugh and set a hearing for 9 a.m. June 20 at the University Hygienic Laboratory on the Des Moines Area Community College campus in Ankeny. Dunahugh has 20 days from the date he receives notice of the board's charges to file an answer.
If the board rules that Dunahugh is guilty of the charges, it can impose penalties that include a civil fine not to exceed $5,000 and license revocation.
