A fix for the first fix ...

Great news, our president recently announced the latest fix to fix the fix that wasn’t fixed the first time. I am referring to the mid-December fix. That fix would magically allow people to keep health insurance plans that would otherwise be out of compliance with Obamacare, i.e., unlawful policies. The problem was that those policies were canceled and did not exist anymore. Insurance companies could not reissue those policies.

This fix magically allows us to keep unlawful policies for another 2 years. Small business or individual policies that begin on or before Oct. 1, 2016, can remain in effect through September in 2017.

This fix will not fix anything for the millions who have already lost their policies or the tens of millions losing the policies after September of 2017. This fix will, however, fix a problem for Democrats up for election. That problem: tens of millions losing their policies just before upcoming elections.

So, if you lost your policy last fall, this fix is not for you. If you are going to lose your policy, this fix is not for you. If you want to keep your doctor, this fix is not for you. If you don’t want to pay a fine for not buying Obamacare, this fix is not for you.

If you’re Congressman Bruce Braley, you voted for Obamacare, and you’re running for senator in Iowa, thank the president because this fix is for you.
