Writers produce no scientific arguments

Eugene Spaziani called my March 8 column on global warming “unscientific” and “hysterical” (“Ellis clearly pushing a political agenda,” March 18).

I challenge Spaziani to explain the science behind why global atmospheric temperatures did not increase in the past 15 years when atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations rose. If his theory was valid, temperatures would have gone up as carbon dioxide was rising. The unfortunate truth is that the Earth has spoken and the predictions are proven wrong using real data.

Who’s hysterical? The letters responding to my column offered no scientific arguments. No response to the points in my article.

People are caught in the climate change alarmists’ cross hairs. Millions of children around the world live in homes with no electricity. You can’t ship electricity overseas, you have to generate it locally. Millions of Americans are on energy assistance and more are out of work under this foolishness. The Obama administration is trying to retard and prevent the United States from becoming a world energy exporter, which would create a prosperous economy and produce living-wage jobs.

It’s time to stop wasteful government spending on global warming research that produces political commentary instead of good science.
