OKLAHOMA CITY - University of Northern Iowa senior Joe Colon knocked out one goal and has another in his sights.

Colon secured his first NCAA Division I All-American finish, beating Minnesota's David Thorn, 19-9, in the 133-pound quarterfinal of the national championships Friday morning at Chesapeake Energy Arena.

The top-seeded Panther used a couple big moves in the first period, including multiple takedowns and nearfall points, to build an early lead. Colon won't be satisfied without being a national champion.

His win came after red-shirt freshman Dylan Peters scored a takedown in sudden-victory overtime for a 4-2 win over Iowa State's Earl Hall to reach the 125-pound semifinals. Peters assured himself of a top-six place.
