‘Talkathon’ a waste of time and money

Is anyone struck by the irony of some of our distinguished U.S. senators spending March 10 in a “talkathon” about climate change? I wonder how many degrees the climate went up as a result of all that extra hot air rising above Washington.

It doesn’t matter if you agree or disagree that we human beings are affecting the climate. Standing around talking about it is not very effective use of their time, time for which they are well paid. I find it incredulous that some adult didn’t interject a little reality into the planning of this event by uttering the words, “That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of.”

But perhaps there is no reality to be found in Washington. I say we stop climate change by sending them all home to get a real job. Oh yeah, that’s right. There aren’t any.

I guess they can get in the job application line along with the other 19 million unemployed Americans. It would be better use of their time and our money.
