Mount Mercy University announces new employees

NEW HIRES

Mount Mercy University has hired Ali Swanson (see photo), previously with Pearson, and Tyler Poldervaart (see photo), previously with the Cedar Rapids Parks and Recreation Department, as admissions counselors. Also hired were Kim Mourer (see photo), previously with the University of Iowa, as academic adviser; Ny-Oka Sokol (see photo), previously with CRST, as accountant; Jenna Hunt (see photo), previously with Wartburg College, as online program coordinator; and Samantha Hawes (see photo), previously with Wholistic Wellness Clinic and Spa, as data specialist.

United Way of East Central Iowa has hired Dave Loy (see photo) as its manager of financial stability. Loy previously was director for Partnerships for Safe Families.

Dupaco Insurance Services has hired Brian Lyons as an insurance agent at the 3131 Williams Blvd. SW, Cedar Rapids office of Dupaco Community Credit Union.

Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust has hired Megan James (see photo) as account executive. James was previously with the Collins Community Credit Union’s Johnson Avenue Hy-Vee branch.

The Amana Colonies Convention and Visitors Bureau has hired Chelsey McDill (see photo), previously with ImOn Communications, as executive director.

PROMOTIONS

Jeff Albright (see photo) has been promoted to president of ESP International in Cedar Rapids. Albright was previously vice president of global sales and marketing.

David Wenzel (see photo), an attorney with Lynch Dallas PC in Cedar Rapids, was promoted to shareholder.

AXA Advisors promoted Ryan Bosch, Marion, from financial professional to district manager of the American Division. Bosch will manage the Bosch district of the Cedar Rapids branch, located at 200 First St. SW, and the district’s five financial professionals.

BOARD MEMBERS

Brian Fagan (see photo), an attorney with Simmons Perrine Moyer Bergman PLC, was appointed to the Kids First Law Center board of directors.

The Better Business Bureau, Cedar Rapids, has named Penny Olson (see photo), Tom Vogel (see photo) and Shane Wicks to its board. Vogel also joined the Iowa City Corridor Advisory Council.

The Greater Cedar Rapids Elderly Consortium has named Kathy McCarthy (see photo), Client Services, HomeChoice Senior Care, as president. Other officers elected for 2014 were Cathy Webber (see photo), community outreach, Summit Pointe, vice president; and Elizabeth Boenish (see photo), community relations, UnityPoint Hospice.

International Traders of Iowa Eastern Iowa Chapter has named Roxann Von Lienen (see photo), Midamar Corp., and Ranae Juhl (see photo), U.S. Bank, to its board of directors.

Roger Stone (see photo) will continue to serve as chairman of the 2014 Simmons Perrine Moyer Bergman PLC board of directors. Others elected to to the board are Kevin Visser (see photo), Mark Roberts (see photo), Lynn Hartman (see photo) and Paul Morf (see photo).
