Luther College names Paula Carlson new president

Carlson will take over July 1st

Luther College's Board of Regents has elected Paula Carlson to be the Decorah school's 10th president.

Carlson will take over from Interim President David Tiede on July 1, according to a release from the college. Tiede has been in that role since former President Richard Torgerson left the college in June 2013 after 14 years.

Carlson is the vice president for mission at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn.
