WATERLOO - Not even the mighty Waterloo Black Hawks can stop this roll the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders are on.

Carlos Fornaris had two goals, including the winner with 6:54 left, to lift the Riders to a 3-2 win in USHL hockey Friday night.

Fornaris scored with 2:24 left in the second period to tie the game at 2-2. He has just four goals this season.

Cedar Rapids (26-14-2, 54 points) jumped into a second-place tie with Dubuque in the Eastern Conference with the victory, its seventh in eight games. The RoughRiders have earned standings points in eight consecutive games and in 10 of their last 11.

Waterloo took a 1-0 lead just 28 seconds in on a goal from Liam Pecararo, but Dylan McLaughlin scored on the power play early in the second period to make it 1-1.  The Black Hawks have lost three games in a row after setting a USHL record with 16 consecutive victories.

Dubuque beat them in overtime last Saturday, then Sioux Falls ended their streak of 23 consecutive games without a regulation loss last Sunday. This was just the seventh regulation loss in 34 games for Waterloo.

Cedar Rapids hosts Dubuque on Saturday night at approximately 7:15.
