CEDAR RAPIDS — Cedar Rapids police are investigating an unattended death after a person was found dead at a cemetery.

Greg Buelow, Cedar Rapids public safety communications coordinator, said it was an adult male, and the name will be released pending notification of family. Police do not suspect foul play, he said.

A release from the Cedar Rapids police department said officers were called to Oak Hill Cemetery on Mount Vernon Road SE after a snow plow operator notified them there was a dead person in the gazebo just before 9 a.m.

The release said the department is investigating the incident and they do not believe there is any immediate threat to the public.
