Robbery reported in downtown Iowa City

Police search area, but suspects not located

Iowa City police are investigating an alleged robbery.

Officers responded to the area of 300 Burlington St. at 3 a.m. Sunday morning for a report of a robbery. The victim told police two black men, approximately 6 feet tall and wearing black clothing approached and demanded money. The area was searched and no one matching that description was found.

Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of these suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 358-TIPS.
