An amazing gesture on a blustery, icy day

I am a stay-at-home mom of 4- and 1-year-olds and my morning is filled with the hustle and bustle they provide. I often hear the background noise of the news spewing things that cloud my judgment of our society.

On Tuesday, we had a delay due to slick roads and as I was letting out our 11-week-old puppy, I noticed a school bus at the end of our circle but no bus driver. My eyes quickly moved to the house it was parked in front of, spotting an older gentleman in a hooded sweat shirt walking arm and arm with a young neighbor girl, assisting her down her very slippery driveway.

This angel had gotten off his warm bus to meet her in the driveway, keeping her and her safety his first priority. The blustery winds of the morning were at a standstill as this very action warmed my entire being.

Thank you, #0902 from Cedar Rapids School District, you made my day by your amazing simple gesture.
