INDIANAPOLIS - The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders salvaged a weekend split at the leaders of the USHL's Eastern Conference thanks to a 3-2 shootout win Saturday night over the Indiana Ice.

Indiana edged Cedar Rapids Friday night, 2-1.

A first-period goal from Andrew Poturalski and second-period marker from Corey Petrash gave the RoughRiders a 2-1 lead heading to the final 20 minutes of regulation. But Scott Conway scored 39 seconds into the third period, and that's the way the game stood until the best-0f-3 shootout.

Dylan Steman and Charlie Curti successfully converted their shootout chances against Indiana goaltender Jason Pawloski, while Riders netminder Danny Tirone stopped both Indiana shooters.

Tirone made 39 saves in the game. Cedar Rapids (15-12-1, 31 points) plays at home Wednesday night against the Sioux City Musketeers.
