SAFE-CR moves nuisance abatement office to neighborhood center

The cityís new nuisance-property abatement program called SAFE-CR has moved into new quarters in the cityís Community Connections neighborhood storefront at 1501 First Ave. SE.

The public is invited to stop by from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7 to meet the programís two abatement coordinators and its technician who handles background checks for landlords.

SAFE-CR, which began operation on Oct. 1, was created by the City Council in an effort to lessen the number of nuisance properties in the city.
