Here are the top 10 most-viewed posts of the year here at 24 Hour Dorman.

1. Forecasts, apprehension and flood maps

2. Be the Poll -- Vernon joins the 1st District congressional race.

3. Olson announcement reaction.

4. Linn County voters need to consider the dark side of our flashy casinos.

5. Binging on the possible reasons for Iowa's party school ranking.

6. Voting yes because Cedar Rapids doesn't need a casino.

7. I can't believe it's not an effective protest.

8. New Pi taste-tests northward expansion with a sophisticated palate

9. New Cedar Rapids library speaks volumes.

10. (tie) Cedar Crossing Casino unveiled

Pomeranz's eye-popping pay package

This is always a fascinating exercise. Three among the top 10 dealt with the Cedar Rapids casino issue, which isn't surprising given the intense local interest. And the top three posts on this columnist's blog were not columns.

But the top two probably need asterisks. No. 1 was the only time folks on The Gazette's news side decided to put something I posted in the rotation of headlines at the top of thegazette.com's homepage. So I got a brief bump.  And No. 2 featured a web poll that was packed by campaigns who summoned supporters to vote.

Thanks to data analyst Albert Paez, who crunched the numbers, and  to all of you who stopped by this past year. Please come on back now, ya hear? Happy New Year.
