Terrence Neuzil was picked Thursday to be chairman of the Johnson County Board of Supervisors for 2014.

The five-member board rotates the position of chair annually, and Neuzil was vice chairman last year, so his unanimous selection by his fellow supervisors was expected. He takes over for Janelle Rettig.

The chair's primary duty is to preside over meetings.

Pat Harney was elected vice chairman.

Neuzil and Harney were each first elected to the Board of Supervisors in 2000. Both are Democrats.
