Allegiant Air flights at Eastern Iowa Airport delayed

'Irregular operations' cited in flight changes

Allegiant Air spokeswoman Jessica Wheeler says issues with crew availability has forced it to delay a number of lights, including two flights in and out of The Eastern Iowa Airport.

According to the airline’s website, Flight 996 originally scheduled to depart Punta Gorda, FL to Cedar Rapids, IA on January 1, 2014 will now be operating as flight 1996 on January 2, 2014.

Flight 997 originally scheduled to depart Cedar Rapids, IA to Punta Gorda, FL on January 1, 2014 will now be operating as flight 1997 on January 2, 2014.

Wheeler says passengers have been notified and offered the option to cancel their flight and move to another flight or airline. She says they’ll also receive a voucher for a $100 discount off future travel, and if they live more than 50 miles from the airport, the airline will pay for a hotel room for the evening.
