Allegiant Air flights at Eastern Iowa Airport delayed

'Irregular operations' cited in flight changes

Allegiant Air spokeswoman Jessica Wheeler says issues with crew availability has forced it to delay a number of lights, including two flights in and out of The Eastern Iowa Airport.

According to the airline’s website, Flight 996 originally scheduled to depart Punta Gorda, FL to Cedar Rapids, IA on January 1, 2014 will now be operating as flight 1996 on January 2, 2014.

Flight 997 originally scheduled to depart Cedar Rapids, IA to Punta Gorda, FL on January 1, 2014 will now be operating as flight 1997 on January 2, 2014.

Wheeler says passengers have been notified and offered the option to cancel their flight and move to another flight or airline. She says they’ll also receive a voucher for a $100 discount off future travel, and if they live more than 50 miles from the airport, the airline will pay for a hotel room for the evening.

Due to irregular operations, the following flights on January 1, 2014 have been rescheduled and will operate on January 2, 2014:

  • Flight 654 originally scheduled to depart Orlando/Sanford, FL to Niagara Falls, NY on January 1, 2014 will now be operating as Flight 1654 on January 2, 2014.
  • Flight 655 originally scheduled to depart Niagara Falls, NY to Orlando/Sanford, FL on January 1, 2014 will now be operating as Flight 1655 on January 2, 2014.
  • Flight 912 originally scheduled to depart Fort Lauderdale, FL to Greenville/Spartanburg, SC on January 1, 2014 will now be operating as Flight 1912 on January 2, 2014.
  • Flight 913 originally scheduled to depart Greenville/Spartanburg, SC to Fort Lauderdale, FL on January 1, 2014 will now be operating as Flight 1913 on January 2, 2014.
  • Flight 978 originally scheduled to depart Punta Gorda, FL to Bangor, ME on January 1, 2014 will now be operating as Flight 1978 on January 2, 2014.
  • Flight 979 originally scheduled to depart Bangor, ME to Punta Gorda, FL on January 1, 2014 will now be operating as Flight 1979 on January 2, 2014.
  • Flight 996 originally scheduled to depart Punta Gorda, FL to Cedar Rapids, IA on January 1, 2014 will now be operating as Flight 1996 on January 2, 2014.
  • Flight 997 originally scheduled to depart Cedar Rapids, IA to Punta Gorda, FL on January 1, 2014 will now be operating as Flight 1997 on January 2, 2014.
  • Flight 890 originally scheduled to depart Tampa/St. Petersburg, FL to Fort Wayne, IN on January 1, 2014 will now be operating as Flight 1890 on January 2, 2014.
  • Flight 891 originally scheduled to depart Fort Wayne, IN to Tampa/St. Petersburg, FL on January 1, 2014 will now be operating as Flight 1891 on January 2, 2014.
