RoughRiders send Funk to NAHL

The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders announced Saturday that they have sent forward Alex Funk to the Minnesota Magicians of the lower-level North American Hockey League.

Funk, 19, had three assists in 12 games for Cedar Rapids. He is from Winona, Minn

He will play in Minnesota for head coach Scott Meyer, who was an assistant for the RoughRiders. Funk will be teammates with former RoughRiders Sam Wolfe and Eetu Karvinen.

The RoughRiders are on holiday break, returing to action Dec. 27 at Des Moines.
