Two restaurants, a women’s apparel chain and U.S. Cellular are coming to Lindale Mall in northeast Cedar Rapids in connection with a recent physical expansion.
Cheddar’s Casual Café, known for its made-from-scratch cuisine, will open its second Iowa location in the spring. The chain opened a location on Commerce Drive in Coralville earlier this year.
Also new to the Lindale food court in 2014 will be Chipotle Mexican Grill, which combines sustainably raised ingredients with a fast-casual dining model. Cheddar’s and Chipotle will have exterior entrances.
Francesca’s Collections, which offers statement jewelry, contemporary women’s apparel separates and creative gift items, will be located in Center Court. The Houston, Texas, retailer will open its Lindale store in 2014.
US Cellular, the fifth largest wireless telecommunications network in the country, will open a new location in the mall later this spring. The retailers join Sleep Number, which opened in a newly expanded wing on the Collins Road side of the mall in November.
Lindale Mall, which opened in 1960, is owned by Simon Property Group of Indianapolis, the largest mall owner and operator in the United States. Simon recently announced plans to spin off its smaller enclosed malls, including Lindale, as well as its shopping center properties into a separate publicly-traded real estate investment trust.
