Police say Coralville man tried to force himself upon woman in portable toilet

Incident reported Sept. 7 in lot near Kinnick Stadium

A Coralville man is accused of kidnapping and assault charges for allegedly trying to force himself upon a woman in a portable toilet near Kinnick Stadium.

According to the University of Iowa Department of Public Safety, on Sept. 7, 52-year-old Ronald J. Williams, followed the alleged victim into a portable toilet in Lot 43 near Kinnick Stadium. Police said Williams then locked the door behind him.

Williams allegedly exposed himself to the woman and tried to force her head down on to him. Police said the woman had to fight Williams to get away from him.

Police arrested Williams and he faces charges of third-degree kidnapping, a class C felony; false imprisonment, a serious misdemeanor; indecent exposure, a serious misdemeanor; and assault with intent to commit sexual abuse without injury, an aggravated misdemeanor.
