IOWA CITY -- The University of Iowa women's basketball team has received an oral commitment for 2015 from an all-stater from South Dakota.

Tagyn Larson, a junior from Sioux Falls Roosevelt, chose the Hawkeyes over Iowa State and Nebraska.

"I really liked the coaching staff and the team," said Larson, a 6-foot-2 forward. "When I visited last season, I got that feeling that this is where I belonged, and it would be where I would go."

Larson averaged about 13 points per game last season as Roosevelt finished sixth in the South Dakota Class AA state tournament. Her team finished second in its state volleyball tournament last week.
