On behalf of The 1105 Project, I would like to thank everyone who participated in our Oct. 6 open house at the renovation site in Iowa City. We have since raised more than $10,000.
The event recognized leading donors: the Community Foundation of Johnson County, Two Rivers Bank and Trust, and Hills Bank and Trust. We also thanked the United Way of Johnson and Washington Counties for the visibility and fundraising support the organization is providing for our campaign, and the financial support and guidance provided by the Johnson County Board of Supervisors and the City of Iowa City.
We couldn’t have held the event without assistance and supplies provided by these individuals and vendors: volunteers from the Free Lunch Program, Clarence Borck and a crew of Hope House residents, New Pioneer Food Co-op, Café del Sol, the Iowa City Landfill & Recycling Center, Aero Rental, Alpha Graphics, First Presbyterian Church of Iowa City, and Old Brick.
We also appreciated the coverage provided by The Cedar Rapids Gazette and KCRG-TV9, and for the awareness the coverage raised.
Collaborating under one roof, the Crisis Center of Johnson County, the Domestic Violence Intervention Program, the Free Lunch Program, and the National Alliance on Mental Illness will better serve our area’s most vulnerable residents. Your donation will help.
Capital Campaign Chair,
