IOWA CITY — Iowa’s home men’s basketball game against Michigan is sold out, and only single-seat tickets remain for five other games at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Iowa’s home games against Notre Dame (Dec. 3), Minnesota (Jan. 19), Wisconsin (Feb. 22), Purdue (March 1 or 2) and Illinois (March 8 or 9) also approach sell-out status. Single-game tickets went on sale Wednesday morning, and season-ticket sales are near 10,000.
Iowa, which finished 25-13 last year, had six sellouts last year.
“It all has to do with Coach (Fran) McCaffery has done” Iowa junior Aaron White said. “The excitement has meant a lot because the fans have bought into what we’re doing. I think we’re a fun brand of basketball to watch. We’re doing a lot of fun things, but we’ve had great support since I’ve been here.”
Iowa students can still request season tickets online at www.hawkeyesports.com. General public and Iowa faculty interested in purchasing season tickets must call the UI ticket office (800-424-2957).
Iowa’s second Black and Gold Blowout is held at 8 p.m. Oct. 25 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Tickets are $5 for adults and free for UI students and youth.
