Robin Kash, a District 3 candidate for Cedar Rapids City Council, is uniquely qualified above his opponents. As a retired pastor, Kash started his own video media business. Through the business one of his activities involved recording our City Council meetings for six years (2007-13). Free of political pressures and with a keen eye he observed the interactions of council members with one another as well as with the citizens they were elected to serve. During that time, Kash learned a great deal about federal and state programs/funding sources. From his objective bird’s-eye view, he observed what works and what doesn’t in City Hall.
At the time of the flood, he videotaped damaged areas and recorded discussions at recovery meetings, voluntarily posting videos to enable various groups to follow cleanup efforts. While to some minds memories of the flood may be fading, Kash is determined to follow flood mitigation efforts through to their completion.
Kash applauds many of the visible signs of downtown recovery and development, but if elected would try to shift a larger portion of the council’s focus toward the rest of the city. He is specifically concerned about creating jobs, repairing streets, revitalizing neighborhoods and creating neighborhood employment/volunteer opportunities for youth. He has set forth several innovative ideas for achieving such changes, along with suggestions for funding them.
A vote for Kash is a vote for well-informed, comprehensive decision-making. To learn more about the man and his plan, please visit www.RobinKash.com.
